Privacy Policy

TorqSync ("TorqSync," "we," "us," or "our") provides shop-management software to repair and service businesses ("Shops"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to Shops and their customers when TorqSync is used.
Information We Collect
We collect information in a few different ways:
- Account information. When a Shop signs up, we collect business details (company name, address, tax identifiers) and the contact information of the people who use the account (name, email, phone).
- Operational data entered by a Shop. Customers, equipment, service and sales orders, invoices, inventory, and similar records a Shop enters to run its own business. This data belongs to the Shop that entered it, not to TorqSync.
- Payment and marketplace data. When a Shop connects a payment processor (Stripe, Square) or a marketplace/shipping integration (eBay, AfterShip), we exchange the information necessary to process payments, sync orders and listings, and fulfill shipments — for example, order details, buyer contact and shipping information, and transaction status. TorqSync does not store full payment card numbers; that is handled directly by the connected payment processor.
- Usage information. Standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically to keep the service secure and working correctly.
How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve TorqSync.
- To process transactions a Shop initiates — payments, invoices, shipments, and marketplace orders — through the third-party services a Shop chooses to connect.
- To communicate with Shops about their account, including support, billing, and service updates.
- To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
Third-Party Integrations
TorqSync integrates with third-party services that a Shop may choose to connect, including Stripe and Square (payments), eBay (marketplace selling), and AfterShip (shipment tracking). When a Shop connects one of these services, information flows between TorqSync and that service as needed to provide the connected functionality — for example, an eBay order's buyer and shipping details, or a Stripe/Square transaction's status. Each of those services has its own privacy policy governing how it separately handles that information.
Data Storage & Security
Each Shop's operational data is kept in its own separate database, isolated from every other Shop using TorqSync. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain information for as long as a Shop's account is active, or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Where a connected third-party service (such as eBay) requires us to honor an end-user's request to delete their data, we do so in accordance with that service's requirements.
Your Choices
A Shop controls the operational data it enters into TorqSync, and can disconnect any third-party integration (Stripe, Square, eBay, AfterShip) at any time from its own account settings. Questions about a specific Shop's own handling of its customers' information should be directed to that Shop directly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
